Abstract.

A new model of preschool education in the Republic of Kazakhstan is being represented by the state compulsory standard for the development of children aimed at developing the cognitive competence of preschool children. The article reveals the peculiarities of the development of the cognitive competence of preschool children in the kindergarten through the organization of walks at different times of the year. The author draws attention to cognitive and educational opportunities for walks, reveals the basic requirements for the organization of walks, the ways of using modern methods and techniques of teaching and upbringing when organizing observations during a walk in a kindergarten.
