The problem of the existence of romanticism in the Ukrainian music was interpreted in different ways at different times. It was referred to as the Ukrainian folk music saturated with thematically vivid Western European content; as the Ukrainian national music that reproduces some cultural and aesthetic elements adopted from other nations; and as the music of certain regions. Without narrowing the usual range of interpretations, we define the musical style as a way of musical thinking reflected in musical works (peculiarities of musical notation, interpretation, and performance) that is determined by the identity of the personality (composer, performer), his ideology, and other factors such as belonging to a particular ethnic group, age, school, etc. Paradigmatic peculiarities of the composer’s style and artistic method can be inherited by other artists, followers, and disciples. In the article actuality of сulturological comprehension problem of stile lines of composers of 20-th and 21-st senturies is justified.
